If your car is over three years old, then you are required to run the MOT test yearly. The purpose of this test is to assess the legality, vehicle safety and exhaust emissions of your car.
During the MOT check, our testers inspect a specific list of aspects of your vehicle: lamps, reflectors and electrical equipment, steering and suspension, brakes, tyres and road wheels, seat belts and restraint systems, body, structure and general items, exhaust, fuel and emissions and driver's view of the road.
The test takes no longer than an hour so book your appointment today.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) qualifies and controls MOT centres, including ours. The certifications are issued to individual, specially trained testers. The tester also decides which among the presented vehicles passes or fails, as per the guidelines issued by DVSA.
Engine condition, clutch, and gearbox are not covered in the test. Manufacturers do recommend this service inspection. However, if running on the public highway, it is not a legal requirement.
A vehicle without front and rear lights fitted, permanently removed, or painted is exempt from inspection. If your vehicle falls into this category, the MOT Advisory Notice (VT32) will contain a note to remind you that the vehicle should only run in well-lit and visually clear areas.
